'I did not experience any symptoms during my Covid journey. Most important was to stay positive and keep stigma away' - An insightful thread on the experiences of our volunteer who tested +ve for Covid19 and was fully asymptomatic. He was located in Pune during this time.

What prompted you to get tested if you were asymptomatic?
One of my contacts tested +ve and I was planning to go to my hometown from Pune. I got tested to ensure that I was safe before heading home, but the test results came out Covid positive.

2/11
Did you experience any symptoms prior to or during the recovery period?
No, I did not have any of the Covid19 symptoms. I felt perfectly healthy during the entire period.

đź©ş Doctor's note: Asymptomatic persons will not have symptoms but can still infect others.

3/11
Did you have to get admitted in a hospital after testing positive?
No. As I was asymptomatic I was advised room quarantine. I was staying with 2 other flatmates. 2 of us tested +ve. Our 3rd flatmate who tested -ve, helped us as our caretaker during this time.

4/11
Did you have regular doctor consultations during this period?
I signed up for a Covid Home Care package of a pvt. hospital. It included daily tele-consultation by doctor/nurse, recording of vitals, a kit containing oximeter, thermometer etc. It costed me 1400 INR/day.

5/11
Were there any medicines prescribed? Any specific dietary restrictions?
I had to take Vitamin C and Zinc supplements daily.
I was advised to avoid fried/junk/preserved food. Otherwise there were no dietary conditions.

Note: Please follow doctor recommendations for you.

6/11
How many days did you have to be in room quarantine?
I had to be in full room quarantine for 10 days. On the 11th day, I had to visit the hospital for a check up for symptoms. Further I had to be in quarantine for another 4 days.

7/11
How did you manage your daily essentials like grocery, food, water during this period?
Our 3rd flatmate managed most of it. Grocery used to be delivered to our door. Our flatmate kept food and water daily outside our door! Someone to provide this care at home is essential.

8/11
Were you anxious at any point? How did you pass time during your recovery?
Naturally I was anxious when I got to know that I tested positive. But we decided to stay mentally +ve.
Video calls with family/friends, my job and Netflix kept me engaged.

9/11
Did you have any Covid19 test at the end of your home care period?
No. As I was asymptomatic after 14 days of home care, they issued a clearance certificate after a physical checkup in the hospital.

10/11
Did you face any social stigma during this time?
There was a small incident where our neighbour blamed us for putting them at risk. I reasoned that we were asymptomatic and following all precautions, but she was scared and angry that we put her family at risk.
