Tammy finishes the season having scored 18 goals (no penalties) and has recorded 6 assists in 2,960 minutes / ~ 33 games (ish) (all competitions). I get the desire for him to be "there" *now* in terms of the rest of his game, but he has 2-3 years to improve, refine and develop.
For a club that has really struggled to find strikers who are capable of scoring, the desire to move on from someone who *can* do that is a little bit premature. Yes, we need to see him use his frame better and become the reference point in attack. But he does score goals.
Tammy is, most likely, learning how to use his body for the first time as a striker. He was a finisher in the Academy, rarely needing to drop + link play - instead he was there to finish and get in behind (he also played wide a lot). Same with his time at Villa/Bristol.
I would love to see him become a striker capable of occupying a back four, able to drop deep, bringing others into play. A genuine focal point. He has the time to get there: it's just a question of development now. Naturally, working with Giroud should help him figure this out.
Ultimately, while he might not become the next Diego Costa or Didier Drogba, he certainly looks capable of hitting around 20 goals a season. That is invaluable. Next step is becoming a more rounded centre forward. Then, who knows?
