Dear Ms. Maneka Gandhi,

A few months back, when a wild elephant died by consuming cracker-laden pineapple meant to kill wild pigs, I remember you expressed your righteous indignation. In your outrage over the death of animal (we all know you sincerely value animal lives) https://twitter.com/praxpriya/status/1268559101417545728
some exaggerated statements were made that Kerala kills 600 elephants per year and that people of Malappuram regularly sprinkle the roads with poisoned food to kill stray dogs, and birds and dogs die in hundreds on those streets.
The incident took place in Palakkad, but Malappuram, a Muslim majority area, was mentioned.

When the air crash happened at Kozhikkode Airport on Friday, these very same people of Malappuram rushed to the spot and flung themselves into the relief work with gusto,
without any thought of the torrential rain and the risk of covid infection. And they lined up at hospitals to donate blood in the hundreds. Not quite the image that had been portrayed, right?
