been thinking about hq and the theme of absent family that ran rampant throughout the whole series. i remember during the first few years i found it very strange that family wasnt a big part of their support system and that i’d also feel guilty for finding comfort in that
like how it’s very rare for hq characters to have (overly) supportive families and it’s usually ur friends cheering u on, it’s the people u meet that will give u the support that you NEED and it’s so comforting to me as someone who doesn’t necessarily have a supportive family
my family is very passive w what i want to do and wouldnt really go out of their way to give me what i want and if they think it’s not conventional (oh boy everything i do is unconventional to them), theyd be the first to discourage me and it’s nice that hq showcases that dynamic
becos not everyone’s family is supportive and emotionally available and it’s sad that that’s d reality of things but it’s jost really comforting that hq showcases that becos it’s a reminder that im not the only one going thru it and that it’s ok to not always be like family >>>
the whole theme reminds me of the quote “blood from the covenant is thicker than water from the wound” wc is the full ver of blood is thicker than water and i think that’s very neat of furudate
jost rambling lol might delete becos this thread screams vulnerable#
