It's just incredible how people in the twentieth century could be respectable and do things out of moral duty and the goodness of their own hearts, and feel and express sincere emotions, and make a positive impact on others' lives
This is not any kind of facetious trad take to be dismissed with irony, btw. People used to be capable of transcending the horror and decay of human existence through good works. They had souls.
It's amazing to think what's possible when humans are not atomized as we are now, when people are allowed a *community* not dictated by coastal media. You could make a positive impact on a life, could be remembered fondly when you died
The 60s are always blamed first for the destruction of the American identity but the psyop done on Gen X, specifically instilling a hatred of the family and introducing irony as a universal defense mechanism, was more heinous than the idealism and experimentation of the 60s
I was reading my grandfather's memoirs, which contain letters from his students and friends in the 50s-70s. There is one letter from a student he coached in 1958, in perfect cursive, thanking him for believing in him at a difficult time and making him less lonely. I cried!
In 2nd response the student said "I keep your letter in my pocket close to my heart. I think you are the best person I've ever known." Imagine anyone, much less a boy, feeling free to express such sincere love and appreciation of a teacher. Unthinkable.
The simplest explanation is that most people have lost Christ and have no moral compass beyond the constantly shifting false religion of fire and brimstone which neoliberalism provides and cruelly enforces. The faithless do not value human life.
Girls have it especially bad, brought up on their phones to lives of socially encouraged online prostitution with no plans or dreams of being a mother or a wife until it is far too late. They only know how to react with periodic Crucible-like fits of mass hysteria like #MeToo
They don't view themselves as worth anything except a social media equation or stack of valueless degrees. They don't view men as people, but as operatives in a vast conspiracy to make women personally unhappy (similar to how antisemites view Jews as responsible for all evil)
The psyop of feminism is truly an incredible thing. It takes millennial women usually about 15 years to undo the programming which takes place largely in college and dehumanizes babies for them, makes pregnancy and family something shameful.
