Want to become a better engineer and make yourself invaluable to your company? Thread.
Work like you have the title you aspire to get. When I wanted to be a senior developer, I started taking on the duties of a senior dev. I said yes to tasks before I was ready.

Kind of like 'Dress for the job you want' but instead you start applying that to how you work.
Teach others. Speaking up in meetings and teaching others what you know goes a long way.

I helped onboard a senior developer to our codebase after <12 months at my new job. I learned a ton and so did he. And I felt more confident in my skills as well.
Take notes constantly. Don't make people show you how to do the same thing over and over.

When someone shows you how to do something, write it all down. Especially commands you might have to run. Save this in a huge doc that you can search through later.
Ask for clarification. If you don't understand something, don't pretend that you do. State what you think you heard and ask if that's correct.

This will help you find the gaps in your knowledge a lot faster.
Spend a little time outside of your job every month learning something new or investing in your skills/growth/personal development.
