If you look at the "Phoenix traded TJ Warren's contract for cash" part of the Suns' offseason, it happened, but it's only part of the story
The Suns essentially traded Warren, Josh Jackson, Melton, the Milwaukee first, the 2019-6th and 3 seconds with various protections -- for $1.1 mil, Saric, 2019-11th, Baynes,, Carter, Jerome and the cap space needed for Rubio
The individual trade of Warren out for cash doesn't hold water; But their combination of moves led to crucial rotation veterans in Rubio, Saric and Baynes (kinda sorta for Warren, Jackson, Melton) - w/cash and pick considerations
I'm not saying I love every part of the Suns' moves from end of 2018-19 to where we are now, but the results speak loudly. They have a dramatically improved product, that might not be nearly as good with Warren over what they got back in sum
