The human rights NGO I work for could employ another 10 people tomorrow if some 'shovel-ready projects' money came our way.

They could even be women.
Gah! Now I'm fantasising about what our next 10 employees could do to transform the world. We're so ready to expand!

If we had the $, we could, pretty much immediately, hire:

- political scientist postdoc x2
- development economist postdoc x2
- comms
- financial reporting
- IT
- Arabic and Russian-speaking content supervisors
- research ops
- writer

And that's just the NZ-based roles.
Human rights NGOs overseas have been badly hit by Covid-19, as you'd expect.

Again, if we had the funding, we could provide employment to amazing regional experts around the world, and strengthen local human rights defenders' ability to push for improvements.
In conclusion: if you have any thoughts about where we can get some more $$$, we - and plenty of other fabulous social justice NGOs - could be part of the economic recovery.
