Ok so as promised, my thread:
Now I just want to talk through this scenario and I'd appreciate if I could get feedback to provide me some alternate perspectives and either support or point out things I haven't considered. Get some audience participation going :)

Ok, let's start
so privatized education, I understand what we should be expecting with how the government will likely be moving forward but I find privatized education flawed for a few reasons.
1. We've never had to pay out of pocket for it before.

1. We've never had to pay out of pocket for it before.
2. There is apparently an increase in
enrollment right now but I think that's got far more to do with the belief that kids will be "safer". I'm not a doctor but I simply, through logic don't believe that to be the case.
3. And I know for pro-privatization people this may come as a surprise, you don't necessarily get
3. And I know for pro-privatization people this may come as a surprise, you don't necessarily get
a better product and that in conjunction with the fact that, and I say apparently because I don't truly know, often times privatized schools pay less to educators than public schools (not surprising). Nothing boosts quality of product like hurting morale by not compensating
people properly........
The first question I ask is, especially in a province where people LOVE their "toys" and hate taxes (not unique), why would people willfully choose to shell out big bucks for something we've had provided and had great results from? Next,

what percentage of people do they think can, or are willing to attempt to budget, to afford such a "luxury?" For those that don't know 7% of people, pre-UCP, sent their kids to private schools. 7%........so you don't have all this demand, just saying. Did I mention, no assurance
of better results. Also, as has been well documented, oil isn't doing well and IMO isn't going to be our "saviour" again. (Take notes Wexiters) so those are people bringing in strong incomes who now are not going to be nearly as plentiful (on the assumption that they value
education the same as the rest of us, trying to remove all bias). With oil being down, there is less money circulating in society (also having grifters in government doesn't help). Then you also factor in expenses being up due to the UCP, privatizing healthcare etc and
dispensable income getting less and less. And yet they think private education will survive? I think not.
I won't dive into private healthcare yet because I don't have the same understanding but I'm going to get more so I can post on that too.
My logic to getting rid of private

My logic to getting rid of private
education is this:
1. Government guts funding for private schools.
2. As an alternative, they develop their own programs in public schools. (Thought process is, ppl will be willing to contribute their tax dollars to public schools if they have selection to get access to programs

they desire: second languages, supports for kids that require more assistance etc) Also, with the new found cash NOT buoying up private schools, that can go there as well.
3. There are those ppl who don't value education as highly. That's fine, not passing judgement. Do they
3. There are those ppl who don't value education as highly. That's fine, not passing judgement. Do they
think those people will be fine having their kids shit on because they don't want to pay for a private school? They all deserve a fair shot to be successful.

chance. If people have complaints about public school, advocate your ideas. Being silent doesn't do much.

Kids education should NOT be a business venture. We need as many productive, contributing individuals in society as possible. Full stop. IMO post secondary institutes could
use some stricter guidelines too. I'm POSITIVE we're losing out on smart, highly qualified people because they're priced out.
