Excited to join @EdMarkey in Northampton tomorrow as he tours the CT River Valley. Like many places in the state, Noho has been hit hard by the economic fallout from COVID. We have seen businesses close, unemployment soar, and people wait weeks and weeks to access benefits. https://twitter.com/wmass4markey/status/1292122902129770498
Affordable housing remains an issue. More & more people are food insecure. People are rationing medicine as they figure out how to live on UI benefits with limited access to affordable health care. W/ an uptick in cases, these issues are going to get worse before they get better.
When I turn to @EdMarkey's office for help, whether it be helping people get missing stimulus checks or helping them getting home from abroad before borders close, Ed shows us and does the work.
When I reach out to @EdMarkey for testimony about #MedicareForAll, he doesn't say he has to think about it. He delivers. When I reach out to say constituents are suffering, he files a bill with people like @BernieSanders to make sure folks can make ends meet.
With Ed, he is not showy. He is not the guy in the headlines every day or on the news talking to pundits. He is the guy who quietly and diligently does his job, sticks to his deep-rooted progressive values, and gets the work done. That's why I'm #StickingWithEd #mapoli
