Feels like a good time for a thread: We expect @JoeBiden to make his VP announcement this week, in anticipation of the Democratic National Convention kicking off on Aug. 17. My prediction is that we will hear on Monday the 10th. As many of you may know about me, I'm hoping /1
it's Kamala Harris, but no matter whom Joe chooses, I'll still be working as hard as I can between now and November to make sure we don't have 4 more years of Donald Trump. To that end, I have a few thoughts to share, which you are welcome to pass along if helpful:

1. If you want to be part of the first conversations between the new VP nominee & Joe Biden, pls RSVP here -- as long as you donate any amount, you can be on their Zoom call. https://secure.joebiden.com/a/grassroots-fundraiser?attr=100948917

We need to buck that this fall. It doesn't matter if Biden isn't our first choice, nor does it matter if his VP pick is our first choice. We need to fall in line and forget love this time. Try to be hopeful and upbeat, and most importantly, commit to vote and to help with /4
getting out the vote no matter what.
3. To the extent you can, pls support Biden outwardly on social media, with donations where feasible, by volunteering for him as texters, phone bankers, postcard writers, lawyers, poll workers, and as voters. Many of you have social media /5

accounts -- I urge you to post affirmative content for Joe & his VP from time to time, rather than only using your platform to vent. I will try to do more of that myself. Follow more of that on @JoeMamas2020. JoeMamas Facebook page is http://www.facebook.com/JoeMamas2020 . /6
4. Remember there is going to be an ARMY of folks promoting misogyny and possibly racism once the VP is announced. Biden expects it, the VP candidates expect it, the DNC expects it. The goal of Trump and the Republicans (and the Russians who are already trying to interfere /7
in our elections) is to suppress the vote. They are not trying to flip voters so much as they want people to get turned off to not vote. Stay strong! Fight disinformation.
5. We expect the typical "October surprise" from Trump. Don't let that sway your enthusiasm from voting /8

or from volunteering or from donating. We have one goal here and they will want to dissuade us.
6. Don't get complacent. I never once assumed Hillary would win, and neither did members of her campaign. We need you through the end.
7. Don't forget to support the Senate /9

7. Don't forget to support the Senate /9
and the House races. If you'd like to donate to some of the Senate races, the ones I'd recommend focusing on are Sara Gideon, Cal Cunningham, Doug Jones, Jaime Harrison, Steve Bullock, Jon Ossoff, Mark Kelly, and Theresa Greenfield. /10
8. Request your mail-in/absentee ballots in plenty of time if you don't plan to vote in person.
