Silly "controversy". Even Bitcoin block explorers often make mistakes with amounts. Look at the difference in "received" BTC between group A and group B:

You would think the explorers in Group A are calculating it properly, because their brand is more trusted, but it's actually the latter that does a better job calculating the relevant amount. The point being that these web interfaces very often aren't reliable.
If someone is looking to block explorers or similar as their source of "truth", especially to make the case against Ethereum, then they don't understand blockchain. Bitcoin block explorers aren't reliable, why would Ethereum's ones be any different?
