Why is Rodion Amirov my new target for the Habs? (A thread of some highlights.)
Here he is with a lacrosse-style goal. https://twitter.com/russiahockey/status/1290638798737604608

Here is Amirov with a beauty shake and bake from the corner for an assist. (His edge work and board play are fantastic.) https://twitter.com/rusprospects/status/1292094785898020864
Amirov has skill for days. He can get inside the defence and protect the puck to make a great play once there. https://twitter.com/crossbarrhockey/status/1287783769878007809
He doesn’t settle for the outside lane. He wants to get to the middle of the ice and uses his assets to get there. https://twitter.com/joshtessler_/status/1280919827809538058
Amirov is a shootout weapon, but more than anything, uses his hands to make people move/make things happen. https://twitter.com/hockey_robinson/status/1265768965072011264
Amirov is magnetic. He draws players to himself to open up space/teammates and then makes the play. https://twitter.com/m_desjardins00/status/1253807399804207106
Look at these in-tight skill plays by Amirov! https://twitter.com/aj_ranger/status/1176541198196101127
Amirov changes shot angles from distance and also bears down and just wires it home on rebounds or around the net. https://twitter.com/mitche11adamson/status/1248379183698309123
Wish I could share some highlights where he’s split the defence and taken it to the net, but I can’t find them. It’s astounding he stays on his feet and focused on the puck and scoring while getting mauled. Love that drive.
