Why do MLs bring up bad things the leaders of the CNT did after they joined the existing state to defeat fascism? They abandoned anarchism and the consequence was exactly what anarchist theory predicted: the exercise of power changed and corrupted them.
Anarchists always insisted that even if the best comrades were to enter/establish a government the consequence would be the same as if any other radical group did it. They would come to perpetuate and expand their power over others whilst telling themselves they were doing good.
This is because anarchists were materialists who focused not on isolated individuals but on social structures and how the forms of activity which constitute and reproduce these structures transform people irrespective of their good intentions.
