It is really important to remember form and function. Comic Sans has been shown in multiple studies (will thread below) to be a font that is better for for dyslexics. Comic Sans is generally available and accessible on many platforms for free. https://twitter.com/CreativeBloq/status/1292173828559376384
There are other fonts that are accessible, and I disagree with this articles take. The Cut wrote about this in 2017 https://bit.ly/3fDGLqY w/"The Reason Comic Sans Is a Public Good" - they site studies on this. It would be great to hear about new fonts that keep this in mind.
A study from U Mich on fonts https://bit.ly/3krkXCs . I believe that we can learn as designers and creatives how to create more accessibly. I take time to learn more each week and ask others to please do the same when you can.
If you are looking for more resources on accessibility I highly recommend Reginé Gilbert's book Inclusive Design for a Digital World https://bit.ly/33Cnrbb !
You can also get a preview on some of the gems from it in this piece I wrote for @99u https://adobe.ly/31vihuQ
