Thread on Eren’s current motivations

I’m going to go through the events in chronological order, so we can have a better understanding of the progression of Eren’s thoughts.

(MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD)
In chapter 107, Hange and Levi confirm that they have to sacrifice Historia and rely on the rumbling. Eren also speaks about how important his friends are to him, which has made people believe that his friends are the ‘main’ reason, for the rumbling, which I disagree with.
During chapter 130, Eren talks to Floch and Historia about using the rumbling to destroy the world/civilisation and that this is the only way to put an end to, ‘the cycle of hatred’. (Yet another motivation). He also says that he wishes for his friends to live happy lives.
Now this is where things get a bit more ‘complicated’, as Eren shows multiple ‘motivations’, throughout this chapter. In 131, Eren speaks about how, him k*lling those people, means that they never found a way for Paradis to survive and that he won’t accept the end of the Eldians
He also says that all of this is to save Eldia, but it’s more than that. The world that he saw in Armin’s book, doesn’t exist. The ocean was meant to signify the end of all the pain and suffering, but it was the complete opposite and in that moment, he wanted to wipe it all away
In 115, we see Eren speaking to Zeke about his plan, in which Eren pretends to agree with. However, I don’t think that all of Eren’s words were lies. Specifically, the point he made about wanting to put an end to the 2000 year history of Titan rule
In chapter 97, Eren speaks about how the people who push themselves into ‘hell’, see a different hell from everyone else. They see something BEYOND that hell and the only people who know what’s on the other side, are the ones who just keep moving forward
In chapter 99+100, Eren speaks to Reiner about not having a choice and how all of these actions are to ‘save the world’.
Chapter 107, Eren gets angry at Hange, because they aren’t capable of coming up with another way. Which IMO, further backs up the point that Eren feels that this is the only way to ‘save the world’.
122 is when we finally see Eren commence with the rumbling and the way that Isayama makes the transition from King Fritz’ words, to Eren’s, really makes it seem like Eren wants to, ‘put an end to the world’, where the titans reign supreme and the hatred for Eldians is strong
Finally in chapter 123, Eren speaks about how the world wishes for the extinction of the people of Paradis and that the hatred has grown to the point where it won’t end until, every subject of Ymir is gone from the world. And his response is destroying the world with the titans
As you can see, there isn’t one single reason for Eren wanting to do this. I think that his friends being happy, is a bi-product of his ‘real motivations’, which TO ME seem to be, wanting to put an end to the cycle of hatred/protecting Paradis
And hoping that the world ‘beyond this hell’, that he is throwing himself AND others into, is better than the one they live in atm. I don’t think Eren’s reason for doing this is revenge. He might have some feelings like that, but there’s more evidence showing it’s more than that
I think things will become a bit clearer when Eren and the alliance face off. Will it be his friends that he chooses, or the destruction of the world and the end to the cycle of hatred?
