Well, Badshah has denied the charges. See his statement below.
I have just one question.
Why buying fake likes & followers on social media such a big news suddenly? Is this a rare incident?
Why are we discussing this when we should be discussing something far more important? https://twitter.com/news18dotcom/status/1292132210242445317

Are we discussing someone's death? Is it murder?
Stop. Stop. Look at this! Here's something more important. A rapper has allegedly bought thousands of likes and followers on social media.
He has denied it. This isn't the first time it happened.
So what? We must discuss the "news"

Any PR & Advertising student on my timeline? This is for you.
In PR terminology, this may be termed as a classic case of Deflection.
Notice how an irrelevant incident is propped as very important to counter an ongoing discussion (in this case on social media) to deflect attention

Here's the chronology.
First, media is informed about a rapper being interrogated by the police.
Only interrogation, no FIR.
Which means no charges have been pressed and this case is not going to trial in a court. Hours later, the same singer issues a statement denying everything

So its back to square one. Only Interrogation, no FIR, singer is accused. He denies charges.
Even if charges are pressed what act will it attract?
The IT Act... Anyway, you get my point.
In my opinion, this incident is unimportant and a PR stunt.
We must not get distracted by it.
