I promise, I don't care if you have specific goals to be thin or muscular. My only thing is, let's be honest and stop pretending like "health" is the primary motivation.
That lie contributes to an environment where we relentlessly stigmatize folks who don't share those goals.

Do some people lose weight specifically for health reasons? Sure.
But most people don't.
It takes nothing to be honest about this.

It takes nothing to be honest about this.
And I frankly don't believe that anyone who's specifically aspiring to a bulky, muscular build is doing so for any reason other than vanity (which, to reiterate, I promise I don't have a problem with)
People can do what they want with their bodies for whatever reasons they want.
But let's be honest about those reasons...and let's be honest that only certain people, with certain bodies/ideals around bodies, are given that space to do what they want with their bodies w/o stigma

We can be honest that there's a lot of social capital to be gained from having a type of body that's deemed conventionally attractive
...and how that capital can translate into many tangible benefits and resources in a world where capitalism and patriarchy collude w/ each other

Adding this perspective (RE: my stance on people aspiring for muscular builds)...fair point https://twitter.com/fakerapper/status/1292186305946767360
