MN set a new record high for number of reported #COVID19 cases today, with 924. Testing is decent, up slightly, but cases up more. Hospitalizations are trending flat.
Testing is of course MUCH higher in Minnesota than during Minnesota’s May #COVID19 peak, as reflected by a much lower positivity percent. There were probably more actual COVID-19 cases in May, but we’ve confirmed a higher percentage of them now.
Today’s spike in #COVID19 cases isn’t just a phenomenon of one area of the state — all major regions showed upticks in today’s data.
Most of the fastest-growing individual county caseloads in Minnesota are in northern MN, as has been the case for a week or two. But a big one-day spike in southwestern Jackson County.
Adjusted for population size, the last few days have seen a lot of 40-somethings in Minnesota with confirmed #COVID19 cases:
