I started researching Amazon FBA on January 1, 2020 as part of a new year's resolution to start a business

My first product started selling on July 9

Fast forward 1 year, it's been a hell of a ride ~$200K in rev from ONE PRODUCT

The first several months were the worst.

Many hours spent researching products, watching YT videos, designing a brand.

All work, no income.

My first brand idea would likely have caused my product to fail.

Then came the moment of truth - I needed to make my first order.

I had to send thousands of dollars to strangers in China.

I went through with it expecting the worst, expecting to lose all my $

Luckily, at the last minute I changed my brand and logo.

I was super excited when my inventory arrived at Amazon, I could finally start selling!

Then the next day I got an e-mail saying my product was prohibited.

It was a terrible day.

I spent a week working with customer support to resolve the issue but got it done.

Then Coronavirus came, and Amazon made constant changes that sellers had to react to.

Halting shipments, reducing max quantities, imposing new restrictions.

Shipments from China became slower and more expensive after being frozen for weeks.

But I recovered and didn't go out of stock too many times.

I am now launching 5 new products by year and and I've learned so much.

After all of it, I found that the key traits you'll need to master for Amazon are:

-Perseverance

-Adaptability

-Patience

⬇️⬇️⬇️
💪Perseverance💪

-Don't give up. I felt like giving up a lot, resist this urge.

-Don't take NO for an answer. Suppliers, Amazon customer support, and others, they will say NO, but their manager will say YES. PUSH them.

-Everything gets easier the 2nd time

⬇️⬇️⬇️
☸️Adaptability☸️

-You'll face many challenges and setbacks, be prepared to change your plans often.

-Ask for help when you need it. Don't go at all of it alone. Ask questions from those who have done it.

-90% of problems have a solution if you get creative.

⌛Patience⌛

-Starting FBA takes time, ~6 months to learn and get your first product for sale

-You won't get rich quick, but you will set yourself up to scale and grow a real business

-There are many steps to the process, prioritize your work to avoid bottlenecks
