what's missable abt lorenz if you don't watch all of his supports is that his self-bolstering is all hot air, & he'll forget abt his own needs in an instant to put his friends & what's right for everyone first. he's been trained to talk Like That but is actually far from selfish
things he says over the course of the main story seem preoccupied w glory, but even /that's/ for his family, & the way he thinks abt these things doesnt align w selfish desires so much as his own perception of responsibility... but you have to dig into his supports for that truth
the surface of his words & the completely earnest intent he actually means w them are very different considering his motivations; he's been loaded up w pressure to attain glory & mostly instead tries to (sometimes wrongly!) shoulder other ppl's difficulties bc he's kind & gentle
privilege does make him a twat but he un-twats himself slowly because his personality already revolves around putting other people first (as a positive, definitely, but also sometimes a negative, as with his fam's influence, & it requires balance). anyway! i love him & must sleep
