I think Toyin's murder should also start a very necessary convo with black parents about kicking their children out as a means of discipline. I can't imagine that her parents still think whatever they were feuding with her about was worth it.
I think Toyin's murder has sparked conversations about the abuse BW face at home/within their families that make them need to flee home (which I believe was her situation). Though maybe not enough of them.
Thinking about that is what led me to the OP.

It occurred to me (again) that I have friends who could've had this same story. Ones that spent a great deal of their time between my house, a few other friends & the streets. I know girls who did that sans the "my house & a few other friends".
& it was over being kicked out.
& it was over being kicked out.
Now that I really really think about it and recall individual girls & situations. Majority of the time it was behind parents/family being upset over them being gay or "fast".
Wow.
Wow.
