But he also thought this idea was really cool and added to my bird facts. He said they can entrain to (copy) rhythms, whereas we can't get other animals to sync with us like that.

We had fun speculating about what kinds of rhythmic and melodic sophostication hyperintelligent scifi birds could have. Like polyrhythms we can't keep up with? He's a musician, so it's an angle I didn't think of!
