illinois locked down much harder.
there were -35% for 2 months vs -10% for one in sweden.
yet they got a very similar curve. (which i had to estimate as IL does not report real day of death data so i was forced to use reporting date from CTP)

there is no correlation with re-opening and more deaths
in either place.
and sweden counts any death for any reason within 30 days of a covid diagnosis as a covid death. in IL, you must be cov+ when you die. so the swedish number is inflated relative to illinois.

the most important thing to realize right now is that none of this worked. not lockdowns, not masks, not school closures, none of it

it's been too successful as crony capitalism and political power grabbing.
the governors are swimming in rivers of pork and patronage and they are doing it at your expense.
don't let them revise history and call this a victory.
