so I came across this tik tok from a 1st grade teacher- pay attention to their expectations for students doing virtual learning
here's a screen shot of their expectations, they include things like
- have an adult with you
- no food
- be on time
- turn on your camera
- dress appropriately
- find a quiet place to work
these expectations aren't actually abt helping students learn, they contribute to a system that disproportionately affects students in marginalized groups- who gets to say what clothing is appropriate? what if there's nowhere quiet at home? what if there isn't an adult available?
