Juve sack a league winning manager for the second consecutive season and, in context, it is really easy to see why. Elite level football has gone to a really joyless place where even the big winners are unhappy.
It's probably not worth considering for the sake of your own sanity, but you could easily ask 'what is the actual point of all this when the most successful clubs are among the most permanently unhappy?'
It's why Roy Keane's scripted fury at clubs like Aston Villa celebrating survival is even more tone deaf than it seems. When even the clubs that win everything are profoundly miserable, what else is there to celebrate other than survival?
There's no way Juve should spend big money on their next appointment. What's the point? You've got Ronaldo, you have to play through him no matter what. What's the point in spending big on a coach who won't be allowed to adopt his own style anyway?
