I have worked in glorious buildings, like @TheRSC and @rxtheatre and got so much from them. But I would never have had those experiences had I not also slogged through pub, community and small regional theatres beforehand. 2/6
The “Crown Jewels” won't survive in the long term if work in "other" spaces isn't empowered to feed communities and grow new cultural voices. We are all part of a pipeline, an ecology, which has its own worth and contribution to make. 3/6
In lockdown I have seen a shift from passive consumption, there is only so much Netflix and Disney+ you can take, into self-directed participation and production. (As well as appreciating nature and outdoor space.) 4/6
Belting out musical numbers and sewing scrunchies has limited my teenager’s meltdowns. And we @jumpeduptheatre have been kept sane by taking our #NorthernSoul inspired dance classes online, creating a new community to work with. 5/6
It’s also been great to see @youthinspired_P + @urocktheatre take part in @company_three project #CoronavirusTimeCapsule – creating a fun and thoughtful platform for young people - voices and experiences that need to be heard. 6/6
