just so it’s clear: Proud Boys are a specific group, not a catch-all term for white supremacists and far-right goons. they are about street violence, much like the blue shirts of Ireland + various other fascist “shirt” formations

the Proud Boys even have their own uniform, a black and yellow Fred Perry shirt. many of them have tattoos (required to go up in “degrees”) that say “Proud Boy.” many of them have been identified by local antifascist groups.

before you type “Proud Boys,” check if you have any evidence suggesting they are members of the Proud Boys. did you recognize the individuals as Proud Boys? see a familiar symbol or tattoo? Fred Perry? if not, don’t say “Proud Boy” or “possible Proud Boy.”

don’t make a fascist street gang intent on intimidation seem more intimidating by attributing them to random acts of far right violence. they want to control the streets. they don’t. stop making it seem like they do.

also, a lot of Proud Boys are 40+ year old racist men who hate women and have drinking problems. they aren’t some fascist super-warriors running kidnapping operations and making explosives.

they are pathetic sacks of shit that drink piss, not the fucking Übermensch (they can be pathetic+dangerous btw)
