A transparent refugee system should include:

- How people qualify
- When are they returned
- When is their status revoked
- How much support are they given
- How they are tracked
- How they are sent home
- Total numbers
- Childrens status
- How are they integrated

None of these are inhuman or horrible they are just basic house keeping requirements.

By providing transparency you ensure public buy-in. The public understand what, when, how and if and so can hold government to account.

It's under democratic control.

2/
The fact that no government does provide this information breeds a belief that politicians:

- Don't know
- Haven't got control
- Have no plan
- Don't really care

But the best disinfectant for concern is visibility.

Otherwise you'll get a political reaction soon.
