So the UK is getting Sky Sabre, and it is of course a capable system using the well established CAMM missile.

But I feel this system has one weakness. Namely the vehicle it is mounted on.
As you can see it will need time to deploy before it can engage a target.
This is of course fine if you have the time to set up. But if you are attacking, or on the counter attack, you do not have that luxury.

And STRIKE is envisioned as highly mobile, so it should have a highly mobile SAM system to help protect it I would say.
To that effect, why not take one of the great features of CAMM, namely it's vertical launch capability for true 360 degree engagement, and be inspired by our opponents as to what could be done, and make a truly mobile SAM.

Namely the Russian TOR system.
A system which while starting out on a tracked vehicle, is now also on a wheeled mount, so as to offer greater travel speed, to offer dangerous shoot, scoot, hide capability.

Could we in the West make a similar mount for a truck or AFV using the proven CAMM system?
They already mount Sky Sabre on a MAN truck, but currently in a TEL configuration.

I think it would be well worth it to invest in a study to see if they could have it in a TLAR. So the vehicle need minimal time to set up, but also carry it's own radar for engagement.
If MBDA could achieve this, they would be able to offer a unique capability to Western forces

However due to the West's experience of only ever having fought with total air superiority the past 4 decades. They are loathe to invest in air defence. Especially with strained budgets
On a side note. We should also totally develop a fully contained trailer version for more static defensive positions like bases.

Those were my thoughts. Curious to hear what you all think.
