Shaivaites, being very devout, accepted Krishna words and concentrate more pn Thithi, than star. The sect that calls this festival as Janmashtami/Gokulashtami will celebrate on the date that has this

5/ ashtami thithi….the star rohini does not matter. Also one needs to do justice to the saying “vittam mudinji ettam naal gokulashtami” (aadi month / aavani month conveniently forgotten)… so Krishna’s birthday has to be celebrated on ashtami thithi which falls on 11 August.
6/ Iyengars/Vaishnavites who consider themselves experts, atleast in these aspects, celebrate Sri Jayanthi only on the day when both Ashtami thithi and rohini star coincides. Bcos as per vaishnavas birth day is celebrated based on birthstar mostly and not just thithi
7/ alone….This falls on the 10th September.
Poor Vaishnavaites and few Shaivaites are at a disadvantage here. Krishna’s fav food --- butter, aval and naval pazham (Jamun fruit/Java Plum/Indian Blackberry?) will be available in the market only based on government holiday. So

8/ people who celebrate Krishna’s birthday on 11th August can easily procure all these, whereas Vaishnavaites when they celebrate Sri Jayanthi on 10 september will have to pre order these items in the market, giving a thorough explanation to the fruit/kirana seller as to why
9/ we are asking for these one month late. Hopefully he/she understands and try to get it, else Krishna will have to make do with only one or two of these.
