The Internet is a voyeuristic medium.

I learned this by watching hundreds of YouTube vlogs, where I obsessed over the lives of creators like @Casey. People covet behind-the-scenes peaks into other people’s lives, especially if they can learn or be entertained.
My own voyeuristic tendencies make me uncomfortable, but I suspect they’re part of human nature.

There’s a crucial distinction between being open and being vulnerable — but people often confuse the two.

There’s no need to share everything, but being open about one topic is very useful. Vulnerability is difficult, uncomfortable, and hardly synonymous with selective openness.
