1/9 THREAD! I’m a fully committed supporter of #MeghanAndHarry. In the last few weeks alone I’ve attended the GirlUp Leadership Summit, made some connections from there that are helping with the creation and launch of my own social enterprise, I attended Travalyst conference
2/9 And was able to connect a travel industry client of mine who is now part of the network to provide sustainable travel, @Camfed @LuminaryBakery & Sentabale have become projects close to my heart. I’m loving watching how #HarryandMeghan are developing & shaping their new lives
3/9 I’m excited for them and know that even when they make mistakes, because they will, that’s all part of our human experience but even then I can trust that their hearts are in the right place! ... I say all of that to say this ... as much as I admire and support them,
4/9 I am not becoming a criminal for them! They do not inspire me that way! I am not threatening, defrauding, bullying, abusing or breaking any kind of law for them! What I’ve witnessed on this platform from people so firmly ensconced in their hatred for others is criminal
5/9 and I really hope both @Twitter & the police execute the maximum penalties to these people that have attempted to destroy the lives of others because they claim admiration of another! It is unacceptable, especially to use & expose a persons child to this level of vitriol!
6/9 Harry is absolutely right in his @FastCompany article - social media is dividing us and in the worst possible way! If the person/people you’re following and claim to admire are inspiring you to put your life and family on the line to break the law &, hence, become a criminal
7/9 then you are part of the problem. Love them or hate them, #HarryandMeghan are going about their business doing what brings them joy! Along the way they gain some support & admiration but, as they have both already proved in earlier stages of their lives, this isn’t about
8/9 the accolades for them. They were doing this in the days when there were no cameras following them - they are not new to their humanitarian life, they are true to it! Let them & their supporters live without the harassment and
9/9 without their children being unnecessarily exposed just because you’re inspired by someone else! That is not normal behaviour it’s abusive, it’s criminal activity & comes at a cost. Is it really worth it?!
