For his spin playing ability he was often regarded as India’s best batsman against spin.
He was played for Bombay in Ranji Trophy in 13 seasons, 10 times makes final & never loose.

All over he has represents to Ind in 30 Tests,scored 2001 Runs with 5 hundreds & 9 fifties.

Still one record on his name, for the 9th wkt partnership in Test cricket among Indians, made 149 Runs partnership with Nana Joshi. Which is still the best.
