I have a hot take: I think @Vivek is a budding good owner who has made a lot of mistakes will get it right
His first mistake was hiring a coach before a GM, but chose to back the wrong horse when they butted heads (PDA vs Malone)
Vlade was brought in basically to clean everything up. There was too much infighting and dysfunction. And he largely did; I don't think Vivek is as meddling as he used to be.
He used to appear in every press conference; he doesn't anymore. He used to be in the Kings' draft room, and publicly. After the famous dinner with Luka in Spain I feel like if Vivek was still meddlesome he would have overrode everyone and picked Doncic. He didn't.
His task should be to clean house and find a qualified GM candidate from a competent franchise to rebuild the program. I have my preferred candidates but he needs to do a thorough search, properly. Will it happen? Maybe the finances get in the way. We'll see.
As successful as he's been on the business side, he just needs to capture that magic for one hire on the basketball side and everything falls into place.
