1/ Just UGH! Yea let's play a game where we play the bad guys trying to hunt down the world's greatest hero. 2/ Expect an M rating of course. In fact don't be surprised if most of DC's upcoming movies, video games & TV shows get an R rating or an M rating. I mean most of it already is. They just LOVE to revel in gratuitous violence, gore, vulgarity & Superheroes dropping F Bombs YAY!
3/ DC is becoming the very cynical, nihilistic deconstruction that they used to be an alternative to. It's like they themselves hate their own characters. Even the supposedly more lighthearted stuff like the Harley Quinn show is just vulgar, off-putting & Superfluously adult.
4/ I don't recognize this DC anymore. It's gotten to the point where the more traditional PG or PG-13 depictions of these characters has become the exception & not the rule. How sad is that?
5/ I mean just one clip of any of their recent animated movies since Flashpoint Paradox makes me sick to my stomach. Even the PG-13 ones seem to revel in pushing that rating as much as they can. Other times they just say screw it & go for the hard R rating.
6/ Things like Titans, Doom Patrol, The Snyder DC movies, New 52, Heroes in Crisis have all contributed to the current state of this deconstructed DC Universe.
Dan Didio, Bendi, Tom King, Zack Snyder are all to blame. There is this strange trend to make these characters less heroic. To make their worlds less ideal & more like a Quentin Tarantino movie. It boggles my mind & it pisses me off.
