You can find the Mackler campaign expenses on the few/open secrets. I won't post here since there are names of employees and even though they're public records I'd rather not. I doubt spending the money well would've gotten Mackler the victory. But color me very skeptical that all the consultant money was well spent, particularly when a ton of it was for fundraising consulting, as was most staff salaries.
It's not so much that I think they wasted a lot of money. It's that so much money was given to the white guy to begin with. Everyone saw the white male veteran and fell over themselves thinking that's how Democrats win in the south, completely ignoring black women.
It's why no money is spent in Memphis to build up the biggest potential base in the whole state. All the candidates, voters, and potential voters are ignored. But the white guy gets to light $1.4 million on fire. How much will Marquita Bradshaw get from those donors?
