The only thing that's not a peaceful protest is a riot
Attempting to prohibit a protest based on the relative importance of the thing/idea being protested is content-based discrimination, and almost always a violation of the First Amendment
If a hunger strike can be a protest, so can a delicious meal in the company of friends
