Blackman driving off his back foot properly for the first time in 2 years.

He was “spinning” the last two years, which kills torque and hurts velocity and accuracy. Big improvement here. https://twitter.com/loganstwitty/status/1291879296789819392
Blackman is also getting better extension on the release here than I’ve seen since late his freshman year.

He’d been “slashing” and “pulling down” instead of extending out.

Honestly surprised to see this big a difference after not having a spring. Good job remote coaching
Spinning, slashing, and pulling down is the unholy trinity of throwing mechanics. Correcting all three is tough, & bad mechanics can return under pressure.

But this should be really encouraging for #FSU fans that Dillingham & Norvell can/do coach proper throwing mechanics
This has been a topic of discussion on the podcast the last year: some QB coaches don’t really work on throwing mechanics. Some don’t even believe they can be fixed at this level.

Jimbo disagreed (as do I) & focused on it. Clearly Norvell & Dillingham do also.
My Patreon subscribers will remember my breakdowns of Blackman’s motion last year (and Francois’ before that). The very flaws I highlighted have clearly been a focus. These guys know their stuff.
