I really hate seeing certain Instagram info-graphics regarding what’s going on in Lebanon that have things like “C is for corruption” in the title... At least 137 are dead. 300,000 people are now homeless. My family members thought they were going to die.
Lebanon is about to enter what will likely be one of the largest economic crises in it’s history, and this is all happening during a fucking pandemic.
If you want to educate people about the situation don’t make a slideshow that’s aesthetically pleasing and full of sugarcoated/vague information. Be specific. Implore people to donate if they can.
If they choose to click on the title, make sure they’ll have to empathize with the situation instead of just being able to mutter “that’s too bad” and then move on. The capital is *literally* destroyed. Imagine walking outside to everything you know being gone.
Ok that’s the rant. Don’t donate to funds that only accept Lebanese pounds, they’re essentially worthless. I retweeted an excellent thread with tons of reliable donation links.
