My only two cents on the whole "jealousy" issue besides what i said earlier:

1. Jealousy is natural. You are not a terrible person for feeling jealous.

But

2. That feeling of jealousy is your responsibility to find ways to work with. And you can find ways to work with it.
Things that can help:

1. Remember that social media is a curated highlight reel and everyone else but you is NOT is getting a million great things happening to them TODAY. It just ends up looking that way.

2. Throw yourself into joy and lead the cheering for your friends.
3. Don't feel like cheering? Find somewhere else to look for a moment. It is okay to leave. Close the tab, stop the feed. Leave.

Know which day deals are announcing and feeling really sore this week? Stay offline that day.
4. Remember that you're putting in the work that will pay off for you in the future. Everyone you see? Is getting theirs from what they've done before this point.

Nearly everyone I know who hit the NYT? Has been around and hitting walls and tossing out drafts like you for years.
5. Really, a million people have said this, but be just as loud about your victories.

Start sharing the little things and take pride in the cheers you get, too. You don't have to wait for your first deal or whatever to celebrate yourself and what you are great today.
6. Remember that jealousy is a part of the long game as much as any other part of this. If you're thinking that your jealousy would be easier to manage if you just had the same things as X author? Oh, my dear heart. No.

So you should start addressing it and managing it now.
So you got six cents out of me instead of two.

I guess I had more feelings about jealousy than I thought.
