My real beef with Lindsay, Pluckrose et al. is they continue to act as if the war with progs is a war of ideas. It's not and never has been—prog ideas have been authoritatively trounced. We're in an institutional, legal, and PR war.
The pretense afforded by the ghost of a departed debate is, if anything, counterproductive to seeing the real dynamics.

How arrogant of them to think they can improve on the arguments of the pomo critics of the past. How stupid of them to think doing so would help one whit.
A historical analogy: the Roman Senate continued for a long time after Augustus became its Princeps for life, and there were surely many spirited debates about the old Constitution and values. But there was no real power in the Senate, and so the debates were of little value.
