A few people have asked me what the cinema is like now it's back open. As I believe it's still the best place to watch a movie, here's my experience, based on three visits this week.
1) Staff are super polite and friendly, and seem genuinely pleased to be welcoming back customers in these difficult times.
2) I wore my face mask for the whole movie, except for sips of my coffee. I honestly forgot I was wearing it once the movie got underway. Hopefully this won't be forever, but it's honestly not that bad having to wear one
3) Movies start on time! Well, almost. You can't saunter in 25 minutes late any more.
4) I adore the cinema, and really hope that people feel confident enough to return. I'm off again on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday to @cineworld to watch Unhinged, 100% Wolf, Notting Hill and Interstellar.
5) It's been a difficult five months for all of us. I think the cinema being back open is my little slice of normality. Well done to the @cineworld Sheffield team for making it such a welcoming experience. There is plentiful hand sanitiser and good social distancing in the loos.
6) And if you pre book, as is recommended, you literally just need the QR code on your phone. No paper tickets. Enjoy!
