Today, one of the biggest fantasy sports personalities at one of the biggest sites, Bobby Sylvester (BS from now on), was caught on video sexually harassing and threatening a woman.

Within a few hours we’ve seen other incidents where BS has sexually harassed women. 1/
BS’ employer, FantasyPros, has yet to take action on BS.

The video is of him, from his professional account, standing in front of the site branding, threatening a woman.

BS even turned his profile bio to “sinner” as a tacit acceptance that he did this. 2/
Fantasy sports has a problem with sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, and outright harassment.

56 million fantasy players in the USA.

When the biggest company with the biggest star basically sits on their hands while there is irrefutable evidence in front of them, that inaction from the company is an endorsement of the harassment and threatening behavior.

Full stop.

FantasyPros says it is conducting an investigation, yet it has not reached out to the women who provided evidence.

I bet they have not reached out to the police for follow up on harassment charges, either.

By not making a clear statement of refutation of BS, and by not making a clear statement of women, FantasyPros endorses the abusive behavior and is complicit in its spread.

This is about a change in the actions of the fantasy sports community.

What BS did is reprehensible and should never be considered acceptable for any man to do to another human.

He leveraged his clout and power at the biggest sports site to abuse women.

We know he’s threatened and harassed two women, and there are likely more.

Change starts now.

Cut out the BS.

Take action. Stand up. Support the community.

Or else harassment and threats become—continue to be—the norm.
