People just don't support black creators the same way as white creators. Even when they love their work. Our work is deemed of less value.

Black creators face even more obstacles. Meaning we need EVEN MORE support to be recognized or gain opportunities. Yet we get less support.
I've seen numerous creators in the VA community ask people for example, to show even more support for BIPOCs. So the industry can see value in having them! Cause as is, people just aren't showing as much support even for the BIPOCs creators they enjoy their content of.
Black creators constantly get their work devalued and have to stand firm and say hey my work has value. People will complain and say that they're asking for too much yet they wouldn't ever say the same to a white creator of the same skillset.

It's a double standard.
Personally the number of times, someone has complained that I'm expecting too much when it comes to being treated as a human being. The times people have complained over the value I put for my time. When they'd never do this to a white creator asking for the same thing.
People say they'd like to see more black creators in VA, cosplay judges and other spaces. But don't do anything about it even when they have the time, energy, health and influence to help.

How many so called "allies" have ever suggested a black creator that wasn't their friend?
People don't support black creators the same way as white creators for the same quality of work due to systemic racism. Every step of the way, there is implicit & explicit bias. You are conditioned to devalue the work of black creators. It takes conscious effort to unlearn this.
It's great that people are sharing this thread or liking it but it's just PERFORMATIVE if you won't do anything to address this issue.

I know most of you just want to appear like you care so you RT this but you'll forget about these words within secs. And not care about us.
After reading this thread, how are you actually gonna support black creators?

Cause without being able to answer this, things won't change.
