A thread showing how rivals contradict themselves when talking about Ole and how he got 3rd :
"Ole spent 200m"

He didn't. He spent 105m, and 50m of that was in January. We never have a net spend of over 80m, so we may never have got Maguire for 80m if we hadn't sold Lukaku for 75m. https://twitter.com/AniUTD/status/1285596645674176512?s=20
"Ole's signings were flops"

If they were flops, then why does it matter that we spent ÂŁ200m since they were shit and overrated? And if they're all flops then Ole must be an amazing manager to take a bunch of flops to 3rd
He also inherited a worse squad than the other teams around us.

Ole's squad finished 6th the previous season.

Lampard's squad finished 3rd and won the EL last season, although that was with Hazard.

Arteta's squad finished 5th last season + had 5 signings to add to that.
We entered the season with no squad depth in defence (with Smalling leaving), the midfield (with Herrera leaving), the attack (with Lukaku and Sanchez leaving).

An injury to any of these areas would leave us in big trouble.
We didn't just get a major injury in one of those areas. We got one or more in defence, midfield and attack.

Shaw - 4 months
Pogba - 7 months
Martial - 3 months
Matic - 3 months
Rashford - 4 months

This led to us putting out lineups like this for the first half of the season.
All of these show that Ole is a good manager, and has done very well to get us 3rd despite inheriting a squad that finished 6th and despite having numerous injuries this season.
