KHANDUA- This is one type of Ikat Saree which is favorite of Lord Jagannath..Also known as Kataki or Maniabandhi saree because the weavers of Maniabandha, Nuapatna, Tigiria area of Cuttack dist prepare this type of saree..They are primarily Buddhists & since ages they r doing it
SAMBALPURI- Produced in the districts of Bargad, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Balangir, Kalahandi & famously known as Bandha sari because of the tye & dye technique used..Some types are, Pasapali, Vichitrapuri, Habaspuri, Bandha etc.. Generally named as per the area of production..
GOPALPUR TUSSAR- This product has got GI tag for its unique identity. Belong to Jajpur district the weavers produce Saris, Shawls, Stoles, dhotis & Jodas etc.. it has a vigorous use in households, especially both men & women wore this tusser cloth during puja performances..
BOMKAI- Originated from Bomkai area of Ganjam district, it is the extensively used sari of Odisha as it's a bit cheaper than the Bandha ones..This exquisite thread work sari now also weaved at Sonepur in both silks and cottons..Dress materials are also produced in this pattern..
KOTPAD- also GI tagged for its unique identity it is a vegetable dyed product weaved by the tribals of Koraput,Odisha..Now silks in tussar also weaved in this pattern and quite famous for its simple designs..
ANANDPUR TUSSAR- The weavers of Fakirpur area of Anandpur, Keonjhar also produce tussar products such as saris, shawls, stoles etc from tussar and gheecha materials..Wearing these is bliss during winters..
SANTAL or PHUTA sari generally produced by Santals of Mayurbhanj district in some base colours and with check patterns.. Sometimes they add different motifs in between the square checks..Now this saree is in fashion for its broad look & the demand is growing..
SIMINAI is a traditional pattern handloom product weaved by the Weavers of Siminai village of Dhenkanal district..The sari is famous for its exquisite pallu design..But now due to less demand this sari is not produced now & the weavers resorted to weave only lungi & gamchhas now.
Besides handloom products also weaved at many othr Districts of Odisha such as Jagatsinghpur, Angul,Khordha,Nayagad,Boudh etc.But due to less public demand for handloom products and limited market such skill of Odia weavers is on the verge of extinction or already ceased to exist
Now a days the demand of #Pattachitra(patta painting) on the saris & clothes are growing exponentially..one such example..
Some designer saris from handloom exhibition..The fourth one is designed by famous odia designer Bibhu Mahapatra(needs confirmation 😀) in abstract design..

Now a days weavers also working in tandem with new techhnics..They are doing experiments with new designs apart from traditional ones.. adding new motifs to the design to make it contemporary..I have one such in which boats are weaved flawlessly..😍😍
