PERSONAL/POLITICAL. Today I cast my vote for the @LibDems leadership contest. And I am voting Layla @LaylaMoran. A few thoughts about my decision. #VoteLayla #LibDemLeadership @LibDemPress 1/6
This may be surprising for the friends who know my roots are in a more traditional liberalism, revolving around free trade, free markets, limited government, and a rule of law. #VoteLayla 2/6
@LaylaMoran brings a different sensibility to our common endevour. She heralds a liberalism which is inclusive, progressive, kind. And I think this is what is needed not just by the UK, but by all Europe and Western democracies in general. #VoteLayla 3/6
@LaylaMoran's commitment to education, to leaving no one behind, to the environment, to a digital bill of right, to an open and modern Britain is inspiring. Her agenda is liberal, modern, progressive, and it reflects the challenges of our times. #VoteLayla 4/6
I also profoundly admire Ed @EdwardJDavey . His personal story has touched and inspired all of us. His vision for a fairer, greener, and more caring country resonates with me. #EdDavey #LibDemLeadership 5/6
Ultimately, the choice is between two excellent candidates. At this point in time, I believe @LaylaMoran is the best step in the best direction, and a greater value-added to the party. #VoteLayla 6/6
