Cyclists like horse riders & pedestrians, can use the road by right. Motorists can only use it by license. This is because motor vehicles are huge chunks of metal that we can drive around at crazy speeds in residential areas. The same reason why motorists must have insurance 2/16

As such we have a license and points system for motorists. Break the law, and maybe get caught and then you might get points on your license. 3/16

If cycling is a right and you don't need a license, then how is a points system going to work? Unless of course, people want cyclists to have a license (and probably a license plate). No other country to my knowledge does this. 5/16
The beauty of cycling is that nearly all people can do it, the people that can't do it probably also can't drive.

It's the basic form of transportation for longer distances than walking. Putting up barriers to that so you need to be tested is just stupid!

We turn such a blind eye to it that we are having 'debates' about if cyclists should be licensed, wear a number plate on a tabard and get points.
