Anyone going after NYC-DSA using @KingsCountyPols article should know who did the interview: KCP's Editor-In-Chief @Stephen_Witt.

Here's a thread on why Stephen Witt is problematic:
Witt has used Kings County Politics to launch attacks on progressives. In 2018, Whit used his platform on KCP to endorse against NYC-DSA's slate by supporting Cuomo, Hochul, and Martin Dilan and to endorse IDC member Jesse Hamilton.
In a recent interview Witt asked an NYC-DSA co-chair to "respond to critics including myself that say the DSA is by and large a white-run organization and that by putting up black faces to run in communities of color the organization is usurping Black empowerment."
Witt tried to dismiss Phara and Jabari by calling them "black faces" that DSA "put up." Witt ignored the record of activism that led Phara and Jabari to run and led DSA and other orgs to endorse them. That's unacceptable.
Witt said he believes in "centrist government." Witt said "Trump's policies aren't as bad as people think but his perception and what comes out of his mouth is so divisive." https://soundcloud.com/user-919141626/ep-8-the-after-burn#t=24:44
Witt has a loose relationship with the truth.
When Jumaane was elected as PA, Witt said Republicans, independent thinkers and Orthodox Jews were the losers of that race. Witt said "they're really going to go after [yeshivas]" because of Jumaane's win.

When it came out that VA Governor Ralph Northam wore Blackface, Witt went on the @UnCorrectNY podcast defending Blackface.
Witt said that white people who performed in blackface "almost as imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."

After being told not to defend blackface, Witt denounced liberals and social media on "the other side of this." Witt went on to say "a White person needs to be able to go 'I understand your feelings' [to a Black person who hates Blackface] but I consider it like flattery."
